Latest Out Gold Mine MMC 232731 Unpatented Mining Claim in the Tobacco Root Mountains , Madison County MT.GPS 112.11475-45.44296 Township 004S Range 004W Section 32
The Bureau of Mines has estimated that demonstrated U.S. reserves of gold are 85 million ounces. Approximately one-half of the total resources are estimated to be by-product gold, while 40% of the remaining one-half (56 million ounces) could be mined for gold alone … Most U.S. gold resources are in the nation's western states. About 80% of the U.S. gold resources are estimated to be in Alaska, California, Idaho, Montana and Washington. Nearly 75% of all resources are estimated to occur in lode deposits
Just 15 miles Southeast of Sheridan is the Last Chance mine and the Sage Hen mine.
Road to the mine is not maintained by BLM this is public lands and a old mining road.
Summer you can get up there with 2wd but any water on the road will require 4wd. There is a new road being dozed up to the mine to the south.
2 gates to get to the mine and the second is kept locked and nobody to worry about. There is one other lode claim up in this section that i get along with very well.
I have worked this mine for the last few years to open it up after 100 years of sitting.Old head frame in front of the adit not pictured. With 2 Adits one blocked . 2 shafts in limestone one blocked. Main adit is around 360 feet long with a open incline shaft at 60 feet going down around 100 feet with 2 open stopes . One large one smaller in the picture with the Geolagest mark in orange on the vein.
In the late 30s and early 40s if you read the history it was open for a few year's as a health spa due to the mineral's
I am in around 60 feet to a incline shaft[100 feet ][ you can see the silver vein in the picture] with 2 stopes that assay out for great Au & AG with lots of copper ,zinc with Rare Earth Minerals. Diamonds and Sapphire have been found in the area with lodes of garnets. I have multiple assays and pictures with video of the veins. You can read on both these mines at western mining history or BLM or just by putting in the names online. This was a health spa in the late 30s for a few years before shutting down due to the war a metal prices.
My maps show the mine being 360 long and a pay vein at the end besides what you can see in the pictures. but i have not cleared the blockage yet. All past reports and today's assays show that it is worthy of excavating project. I sell specimens on ebay from this mine at the sum of 35k . .One hundred tonn run and it will pay for its self besides the specimens that could be sold. Most of the ore i sell on ebay is from this mine.I will be on the Sage Hen claim just to the east opening the adit that has been closed for a hundred year's if you need any help.
